Destinations to visit on your Self Drive in Uganda
Uganda is a remarkable destination and has seen an increase in the number of people visiting the country over the years because of such much that you will get to explore within the country’s boundaries. Some of the destinations you can visit on your self drive Uganda adventure include;
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is situated in the south west part of Uganda, this UNESCO site is popularly known to be home to mountain gorillas that you will spot right in their natural habitat.
Your road trip to Bwindi will start in Kampala and there after you will connect to the Kampala – Masaka highway and this trip to Uganda’s leading destination will take you about 10-11 hours. To gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will need to have secured a gorilla trekking permit and each costs $800 per person and allows you to be with the gorillas for about an 1hr.
There four gorilla trekking sectors in Bwindi; Rushaga, Buhoma, Nkuringo and Ruhija and you are advised to stay a day before your trekking in the same sector you are to track these giant species.
Murchison Falls National Park
This is Uganda’s biggest and oldest National Park. It is popularly known to be home to the world’s most powerful waterfall – Murchison Falls and the best savannah national park to do a game drive where you will spot a number of wildlife species as they roam freely.
